How an episode works
The story stops three times.
Each episode is a short animated story, usually built around one everyday Korean expression. Here is what you do each time it stops.

Meet the expression
First, a quick question. Pick what the Korean means, or pick the Korean that fits the moment.

Build it or pick it
Next, put the Korean together from a few pieces, or pick it from a few choices.

Say it
Then it is your turn for a moment. Say the line out loud, and the story goes on.
- Wrong answers are fine. You get another try, often with a hint.
- Speaking is optional. When the app listens for your voice, a Skip button is always on screen.
After the story
A short practice, right after the ending.
Most episodes end with a short practice on the same expression. Here is what it can include.
Hear it slowly
The line plays one syllable at a time, and each syllable lights up as you hear it. Then it plays at normal speed.
See how it is built
The expression is split into its pieces, each with its meaning. Tap Got it when you are ready.
Say it again
If the app can use your mic, it listens with your phone's speech recognition and shows what it heard. Skip is always there. With the mic off, you repeat after the voice instead.
Review the last one
From a story's second episode, a quick question brings back the expression from that story's episode before.

The app has four tabs: Path, League, Saved, and Me. Everything after the first episode needs Koko Premium.
Saved expressions
Save the expressions you want to keep. Each one stays on its scene, so you can hear it and say it again. Today's review brings them back over the next days.
Mini-games
Tap Play & review after an episode for four short games with the expressions you have learned: Catch it, Letter bakery, Stepping stones, and Say it.
Weekly League
Your best mini-game scores add up to a weekly ranking in the League tab. Every week starts fresh.
Day streak
Finish an episode each day to grow your streak, and pick a goal of 7, 14, 30, or 50 days.
Reminders
If you turn on notifications, a character from your story sends you a short reminder the next day, in Korean with a translation.
